THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Losing men in battle. I feel
FAVORITE SMELLS: The sea, a good meal cooking. My wife's perfume.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING:
adventures will I face today? How can I best serve my Captain,
and my King -- in that order. I have met the King and the poor
BATTLE: SCARY OR EXCITING: I am usually too occupied to give it
one way or another until it is over. Then I am grateful to have
and grieving for the men who have not.
FAVORITE FOODS: I never met a meal I didn't like. Save for maggots
biscuits. Though I did turn down a ragout of Gibraltar Ape offered
CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA: Evidently, I am not partial to one of the
STORMS, COOL OR SCARY: Awe inspiring
FAVORITE DRINK: Fine aged port, or brandy.

have the excitement of my naval career, but without the grief
