by Skihee

The Horatio Hornblower Quiestionnaire: All About....?

NAME: Finch. Aloicious Beauvelet Finch (don't tell me mates, but there's
a frog in me past!)

LIVING ARRANGEMENT: 9th hammock from the larboard side, near Bunting and
Matthews

FAVORITE PASTIME: Like me name implies, I likes the top! Ye ken fin me up
'ere enjoyin' the view! Sometimes I talks to God! He's in the fightin' top
y'know! I know 'is word, Praise the Lord!

FAVORITE BOOK: Easy! The Bible! Ain't no tother really worth readin'
'less its somethin' on seamanship, mebbe, but I learnt most of that by hand
not readin'. Reckon I don't need no book to know me trade, but o' course
them green middies, like Mr. 'Ornbower do. Yep he ain't got the
opportunities we seamen got. He's got t'put up wi' all that officerin'
stuff. He's a good lad though! I likes Mr. 'Ornblower, I does!
THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Breathin in the sea air from the
t'gallant yard! Some mates don't care fer this high flyin' job, but it's the
world t'me! Closer to God up 'ere! Get a bit o' His view, kinda!

THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Oh well, when I been too honest fer
Styles! Cor, that man 'd soon as clamp ye one as look at ye!

FAVORITE SMELLS: Food smells! Yep, I like t'eat but never seem t'get enuf!
Need some limes, me thinks, teeth feelin' a bit wobbley

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING: Some
mornin's it's 'ard t'get up out o' the ol' 'ammock! Bones is slow to move,
even when the bosun comes 'round wi' that starter o' his.

BATTLE: SCARY OR EXCITING: Might bit scary, but I does me bit as best I
ken, Praise the Lord! Scariest time were when Mr. H fell from the yard!
EEee! I 'ad to jump in fer 'im from up there! Felt like a bleedin' swan
makin' that dive! Lucky I found 'im right away in the dark and deep!
Couldn't do nothin' else though seein's how 'e were so kind when I lost me
pistol after the Marie Gallant sunk! I were mighty thankful 'e were so kind
about it. Yep, I sure was! Thank the Lord!

FAVORITE FOODS: Need some limes fer me wobbley teeth. Can't eat what I
wants on account of 'em and besides ain't gettin much t'eat as it is just
now. But I don't blame the
Cap'n. His servant an' me is mates from way back, I know the Cap'n ain't
fairin' much better'n us in the vittles department.

CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA: I 'ad me a bit o' chocolate oncet! It was right
tastey!

STORMS, COOL OR SCARY: A storm from the top yard is a fearsome thing unless
ye know the Lord. I just talks to 'im when I'm in that kind o' situation.
He's kept me til now! I got nowt t'fear. When it comes time fer me t'go,
the Lord'll come get me! He loves me y'see! An' I love Him!

FAVORITE DRINK: Rum! It's good fer what ails ye!

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE: I'd wish
there was somethin' a body could take that would keep yer teeth from gettin
wobbley

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE: I'd like to
'ave all me teeth and nice bit o'tender juicy bullock! Roasted potatoes like
me old mum used t'fix, an' a nice puddin'!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE: Love me wife! Ain't seen 'er fer some time.
Wonderin' if and when I will. I've asked Matty to see 'er iffin' I don't
make it 'ome some day

IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL: Half full cos I've sipped it down!
It's a lovely glass o'rum!

WHAT'S IN YOUR ANXIETY CLOSET: Closet?

WHAT'S YOUR LOFTIEST DREAM: Ahhh, that one day I'll meet me Maker and he'll
say, Well done, thou good and faithful servant! And, Finch, I was mighty
pleased when ye saved young Hornblower! I knew ye wouldn't fail Me!

WHAT'S YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE: Losin' me mates! Me ship! Me officers! I
likes what I gots right now even thought supplies is a bit scarce. I'd still
rather be 'ere than on any t'other ship, fer sure!

WHAT DO YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU THAT YOU FEEL THEY DON'T:
Oh, that I love 'em, that I pray fer 'em. I think that's why the Lord's got
me 'ere ye see!

WHAT OTHER HH CHARACTER WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ANSWER THIS QUESTIONNAIRE:
Hmmm. Well, ye know, I wish the Indy could talk! What would she say about
