All About: Ursula Davis (Helios Alternate Universe)
by Sarah in Australia

NAME: Ursula Davis

LIVING ARRANGEMENT: Captain's quarters; His Majesty's Britannic Ship Indefatigable

FAVORITE PASTIME: Finding joy within the refuge of music, documenting the amazing course of events that have led my colleague Clarissa and I to find ourselves aboard this vessel and in this time, Ever exploring the possibilities to exercise my field of expertise in this era.

FAVORITE BOOK: Where to start? There are so many ranging from Holy Scripture to all things space and starship.

THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: The all encompassing awe one experiences when viewing our world from above, bordered by the blackness of the heavens - no words are sufficient to do justice when expressing the emotions such stirs within; not to mention the humbling privilege of being one of only a rare few.

THE WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD IS: Failure in both my mission and to my dear colleague - having dragged her back into this time with me.

FAVORITE SMELLS: Frangipani, Freshly ground coffee, the countryside after rain, good quality sandalwood incense.

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU THINK WHEN YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING: Oh, This isn't the 21stst century, is it.

BATTLE: SCARY OR EXCITING: Brief as my experience with battle has been, All I can say is sobering to say the least - when one is attending to their duties at its height, one is focused upon the task assigned them. However, when it is over and done with, feelings of loss, futility and how unnecessary the waste of life in its prime can be crushing.

FAVORITE FOODS: There is so much that takes my fancy - all fare from any corner of the Mediterranean, be it European, Middle Eastern or African. Additionally, nothing beats the perfect simplicity of an excellently prepared English dish.

CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA: Both are wondrous.

STORMS, COOL OR SCARY: This is somewhat of a sore point with me as a storm led to the destruction of my vessel and subsequent stranding in this time.

FAVORITE DRINK: Anything wonderfully sweet, well aged and of unsurpassed quality be it port, sherry, mead - even a good raisin musket - all in moderation of course. Fine tea, coffee and chocolate (plus the luxury of sweet fresh water) stand tall also.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE: I would return my colleague back to our time. I on the other hand am committed to staying - who can resist witnessing the birth of amazing technology that will culminate in my venture into the heavens?

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE: I would attempt to be less harshly critical of myself and try to reconcile my grief more effectively.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE: Most definitely. My beloved late husband, Dr. Tony Davis is the reason I am now here. Nonetheless, providence has seen fit to bring another wonderful gentleman into my life in the form of Indefatigable's first lieutenant.

IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL: Oh, It is always half full.

WHAT'S IN YOUR ANXIETY CLOSET: My long-term future life in this time and that of Clarissa.

WHAT'S YOUR LOFTIEST DREAM: To be the innovator of fantastic technology to explore the globe here and now, within and without - I care not for any 'temporal prime directive' or danger of time paradox; To show those who have been so kind to me here the true beauties of this earth they'll never see if I do not advance this work. Perhaps it will make the grizzly business of conflict (especially that of naval conflict) that little bit cleaner.

WHAT'S YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE: succumbing to disease preventable in my own time.

WHAT DO YOU WISH PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT YOU THAT YOU FEEL THEY DON'T: My science is valid - I can show them the stars if they will simply trust.

WHAT OTHER HH CHARACTER WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE ANSWER THIS QUESTIONNAIRE: The charming Lieutenant Bracegirdle; now that circumstances have changed re my arrival in his time and all this entails.
